Note 1: 2013.11.16 — At Zephyrhills the Seaboard Air Line crossed the ACL from Ybor City (Neve wye and spur) northeast along U.S. 301 through Temple Terrace up to Vitis Junction. After the 1967 merger of A.C.L. and S.A.L. and later the consolidation into CSX the Seaboard northwest from Zephyrhills and the A.C.L. southwest from Zephyrhills were abandoned; a curve was installed to connect the remaining portions of track between Vitis Junction and Plant City. This is why the milepost prefix changes from ARF to S in Zephyrhills where the Yeoman subdivision begins.
Note 2: 2013.11.17 — To continue pacing trains south on the Yeoman sub to Plant City: from Vitis Junction continue south on County Road 35A/Old Lakeland Highway which mysteriously changed to County Road 535/Chancey Road south of Melrose Avenue. It will wind across the ACL portion of the line, then swing around the airport and cross the SAL portion before intersecting with State Road 39/Paul Buchman Highway. Turn LEFT to continue south to pick up the S-line in a couple miles at Crystal Springs.
Note 3: 2013.11.17 — Plant City boasts a train watching platform across the ACL tracks from the restored train depot at the diamond. Watch their Facebook page for event announcements and status updates.
Note 4: 2014.02.03 — Knights siding is lit up and ready for use.
Notes for my railfanning research expedition. This is the best place to put them, right out in plain view where I can find them.
